The Scope
We are looking for a Programme Manager Internal Communication & Publications who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

We are seeking a proactive communication professional to join our communication and media department. The new role is in support the Global Director of Communication and Media Engagement in building the internal communication and enhance our publications. As Internal Communication & Publications Manager, you will help develop the mechanisms to celebrate successes, bring clarity and transparency to changes, and facilitate two-way engagement, so that our people can share their stories, be actively consulted on change projects, and have reasons to feel proud about working for us. 
 
Specifically, you will focus on the delivery and measurement of engaging communication campaigns, messages and activity as well as collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to manage the development and delivery of core communication channels
 
We will look to you to lead the scheduling and development of high-quality and engaging internal communication and engagement content on a weekly basis for core channels as well as measuring their impact to ensure our internal communication are evidence based and insight led.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Global Director of Communication and Media (Engagement Unit) the Programme Manager will:
  • Responsible for the development and the implementation of the Internal Communication strategy in consultation with the Unit Communication and Programme Manager leads, the Global Director; and, helping to develop internal communication capacity in the wider organisation.
  • Responsible for identifying the most optimum tools available for effective internal communication across the organisation - and evaluating.
  • Assist in the development of a communication strategy to position the Director General, C-Suite, and Unit Directors to make the most of strategic opportunities - internally and externally.
  • Spearhead the annual report project for FSC International and support network partners/national representatives to roll out the report to stakeholders and members.
  • Produce the bi-weekly and quarterly newsletter for FSC International for internal audience (Branching Out) and external facing publication development.
  • Support units and network with the production of publications, produce guidelines and policy on publications development.
  • Ensures all relevant communication materials produced (articles, speeches, films, and audio) are shared with relevant staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.by the Global Director of Communication.
Your profile
Education and Training: 
  • bachelor’s University degree in Journalism, Writing, Publications, PR, Communication, or a similar field. Master’s degree preferred.
Working Experience, Style, and Skills: 
  • At least 10 years professional experience in public relations or executive communication is required.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a track record of producing high-quality written content for senior leaders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to deliver multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Possess well developed communication, planning, time management and prioritization skills. 
  • Effective at working with and managing multiple stakeholders, you will be happy operating across matrix structures too.
  • Deep commitment to responsible forestry and/or broad sustainability in alignment with FSC’s mission.
Communication & Language Skills: 
  • Excellent English writing skills and the ability to shape messages for intended audiences.
  • Proficiency in another language a plus; particularly Spanish and French.
  • APA Editorial proficiency and equivalent
Languages: 
  • Fluency in English (excellent spoken and written). 
  • Proficiency in another language a plus; particularly Spanish and French.
Digital Skills: 
  • Competence with Microsoft Office suite (advanced PowerPoint skills).
  • A working knowledge of video editing software, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Elements, and Photoshop / graphics editing software would be an advantage in this role. 
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and reporting tools.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany 
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
  • Duration of Employment: Initial 2-year contract with the intend to convert to open ended. 
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible
  • Travel: Frequent travel is required.
