Programme Manager Data and Innovations (m-f-d)

The Scope
The Programme Manager Data and Innovations will be pivotal in defining and driving delivery of a vision of incorporating cutting-edge technologies, like the FSC Blockchain, AI, and Data Warehouse infrastructure, into FSC’s data and analytics operations and stakeholder-facing solutions. This role involves managing a team of data and development engineers, managing relationships with technology service providers and partners, and providing the strategic oversight of product development processes, from ideation to launch, focusing on integrating modern data technologies and innovative solutions.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Product Management  
  • To lead the conceptualization, development, and launch of new data products and services, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, global strategy, and market trends.
  • To enable his/her team requirements gathering collaborating with different stakeholders to collect and prioritize requirements.
  • To oversight the product development providing guidance and support during the product development lifecycle. 
  • To ensure alignment with compliance and ethics on the products and their developments.
Data Management:
  • To establish and enforce FSC Data Governance policies and procedures. 
  • To act as a guardian and referral point for FSC Data Architecture and ensure adherence and coherence of any new application, including data models alignment with business requirements.
  • To enable data integration with multiple applications and systems, with an approach of interoperability and seamless flow. 
  • To ensure alignment with compliance and ethics including GDPR, and market best practices.
Innovation Management
  • To develop an Innovation roadmap identifying opportunities that align with FSC Priorities. 
  • To incentivize a culture of prototyping and testing to validate feasibility and adoption of innovative concepts.
  • To scout for cutting-the-edge technologies that could impact the industry.
  • To ensure alignment with compliance and ethics on the technology and its innovations.
Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.
Your profile
Education and Training: 
  • University degree in Data Science or Analytics, Computer Science, Innovation Management Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Project Management, Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking or Data Management.
 
Working Experience, Style and Skills: 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in product management, preferably in a technology or data-focused organization.
  • Hands-on experience with data technologies and innovation methodologies.
  • Ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of staff needs, procurement processes, and partner engagement.
  • Solutions and service-oriented attitude to work.
  • Extensive project management experience. 
  • Proven ability to plan and organize digital product work.
  • A strong sense of diligence and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive discussions.
 
Leadership: 
  • At least 2 years of experience in supervising staff teams. 
  • Proven professional strategic and technical abilities. 
  • Problem solving and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Inspirational leadership incentivizing a shared commitment for delivering.

Technical Skills:
  • Data Governance and Analytics (ELT, Datalake, Microsoft Fabric SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Dataverse – Azure.
  • Project Management Tools (Microsoft DevOps, Jira, Trello).
  • User Story and Backlog Management (Microsoft DevOps).
  • Version Control (Git/GitHub). 
  • Standard software packages (MS Office). 
  • Database management platforms.
  • Customer Relations Management systems, for example Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Content Management Systems is a plus.
  • Blockchain is a plus.

Language and Communication Skills: 
  • Fluency in English. 
  • Spanish and French are a plus.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

Others:
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team.
  • Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization is a plus.
  • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values. 
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world. 
  • Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany 
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
  • Duration of Employment: Initial 2-year contract with the intend to convert to open ended. 
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible
  • Travel: Occasional travel is required.
