Financial Accountant (m-f-d)

The Scope
We are looking for an engaged Financial Accountant who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.
 
Are you a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual? Do you enjoy working with numbers and automating processes? If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team at FSC as a Financial Accountant. You will contribute to the smooth operation of the finance department by carrying out accounting activities and financial transactions in line with the principles of orderly bookkeeping.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Verifying and processing supplier invoices in our ERP system SAP Business ByDesign.
  • Verifying and processing travel expenses in our travel expense system Expensya and ensure that our travel expense guidelines are complied with.
  • Preparing the weekly payment runs.
  • Act as a contact person for all questions related to accounting matters for internal and external inquiries.
  • Assist with daily reconciliation of accounts. 
  • Process and post bank statements (incoming and outgoing payments).
  • Support in the year-end closing activities and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the automatization and digitalization of financial processes.
  • Any other task and project work assigned by the Head of Finance.
Your profile
Education and Training
  • University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example, ...
  • Training as financial accountant recognized in Germany, for example IHK, ACCA or equivalent.
 
Working Experience, Style and Skills: 
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting in a medium sized international organisation.
  • Experience in project controlling would be an asset.
  • Good time management skills: Ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of functions. 
  • Solution- and service-oriented attitude to work.
  • A strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills.
 
Language & Communication Skills: 
  • Fluency in German and English (spoken and written). 
  • Spanish is a plus. 
 
 Digital Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
  • Standard software packages (MS Office, especially Excel).
  • Experience in the use of SAP Business by Design is an advantage.  

Others:

  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team.
  • Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization. 
  • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values. 
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world. 
  • Familiarity at the general level with the scope of FSC’s programs.

  • Compliance with internal procedures, policies and the principles of orderly bookkeeping.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany. 
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance). 
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
