The Scope
The Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing both on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure. This role requires expertise in automation, hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure administration, and financial management of IT resources. The specialist ensures seamless integration between on-premises and cloud environments, security compliance, and performance optimization. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and lead cloud transformation projects that drive business success.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including cloud workloads and containerized application platforms.
  • Administer and optimize heterogeneous systems (Windows, VMware, Exchange, LAN, WAN) and ensure seamless network integration.
  • Lead cloud migration initiatives and architect innovative hybrid cloud solutions to support business goals.
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning of infrastructure using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) 
  • Ensure security, compliance, and disaster recovery across hybrid environments, enhancing system resilience.
  • Optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure business continuity
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and help shape infrastructure strategies to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Track and optimize IT infrastructure expenses across projects through rightsizing, licensing, and resource allocation to improve budgeting and resource utilization.
  • Participate in IT audits, ensuring compliance with security policies, governance frameworks, and relevant regulations.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.
Your profile
Education and Training: 
  • A university degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Active Directory & Identity Management, VMware Certified Professional, Terraform Associate).
 Working Experience, Style, and Skills: 
  • 3-5 years managing hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure, including Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, and cloud-based workloads.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and results-driven with a focus on performance optimization, automation, and cost efficiency.
  • Proactive team player.
 Computer Skills:
  • Strong expertise in cloud architecture, disaster recovery, infrastructure automation, networking design and implementation (LAN/WAN, network segmentation)and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Skilled in managing security, compliance, and business continuity across hybrid environments.
 Language and Communication Skills
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written). 
  • German is a plus.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
