Forestry Value Chain Officer (m-f-d) – based in Türkiye

The Scope
We’re looking for a motivated Forestry Value Chain Officer to lead our work in Türkiye, helping us strengthen private sector stakeholders in sustainable forest product sourcing and claiming. This role is central in connecting FSC International with local stakeholders across the forestry sector – from private sector certificate holders and government bodies to NGOs and industry associations.

You’ll serve as the go-to technical expert on FSC standards and methods, lead strategic development of value chain and EUDR compliance, and support stakeholder engagement and integrity across the forest value chain.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Act as the local expert on FSC standards (CoC, EUDR Solutions, Trace, labels, etc.).
  • Provide technical guidance and training to private sector certificate holders and partners.
  • Develop Türkiye’s Forest Product Value Chain Management and EUDR support strategies.
  • Build strong networks with private sector representatives, certificate holders, certification bodies, industry associations and government stakeholders.
  • Represent Türkiye in FSC global and national forums, conferences, and internal working groups.
  • Support the country office with membership growth, ecosystem services, promotional licenses and variety of forest product value chain development efforts (e.g. textiles, NTFP).
  • Coordinate with FSC’s global teams to adapt and improve standards locally.
Your profile
Education
  • Degree in forest industry engineering, or related field.
Experience
  • 3+ years in a relevant role (forestry, certification, forest product value chain, sustainability).
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong grasp of FSC’s programs, and forest product value chains.
  • Excellent communication in Turkish and English (spoken & written).
  • Digital proficiency (MS Office; adaptable to new tools).
  • EUDR compliance preferred.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and confident working independently.
  • A team player with intercultural awareness and stakeholder engagement skills.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Türkiye (preferably Istanbul; flexible/hybrid working possible).
  • Contract: Full-time (40 hrs/week). 
  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
