Communications Officer (m-f-d)

The Scope
The Communications Officer will assist in implementing communication plans, monitoring media coverage of relevant issues, producing content, coordinating with partners, and maintaining digital platforms like relevant web pages.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Draft and edit communication materials including newsletters, website updates, fact sheets, and stakeholder updates.
  • Support the development of messaging for system integrity-related programmes. 
  • Assist in packaging complex information into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
  • Assist in organizing Townhalls, GSM sessions, and other stakeholder events. 
  • Develop a calendar for social media posts about system integrity stories and updates, and draft content for these posts.
  • Identify relevant system integrity specific keywords for media monitoring and share a report with the System Integrity Communications Manager in a recurring manner.
  • Support with project management in projects involving external service providers.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for proactive and reactive communication processes.
  • Contribute to the development of data visualization and infographics. 
Your profile
  • University (Bachelor or Master) degree in a relevant field (e.g. Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations).
  • 2–3 years of experience in communications in a fast-paced organization. 
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English (fluency required).
  • Experience with standard Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  
  • Good project management skills: Process oriented approach to management of tasks.
  • Proficiency in a range of social media content development and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) and newsletter tools is a plus.
  • Experience with graphic design software is a plus. 
  • Experience with media monitoring/listening tools is a plus.
  • Mother tongue fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Fluency in French is desirable.
  • Fluency in Spanish would be a plus.

The Fine Print
  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
