The Scope

We are looking for an engaged Policy Communications & Outreach Manager
who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.
 
You will lead stakeholder engagement and communications activities that support the development of the FSC normative framework. This role connects technical experts, policy teams, and stakeholders by designing effective consultation processes, improving stakeholder participation, and translating complex content into clear, accessible, and user-friendly communications.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and consultation strategies for the FSC normative framework.
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder consultations using innovative and inclusive engagement methods.
  • Improve engagement processes to increase stakeholder participation, diversity, and quality of feedback.
  • Develop and manage communication and stakeholder engagement plans across the Policy and Performance Unit.
  • Lead major stakeholder engagement and communication initiatives and projects.
  • Create and oversee communications materials, including webpages, newsletters, consultation documents, and presentations.
  • Translate complex technical and policy content into clear, concise, and engaging messages for diverse audiences.
  • Review standards, requirements, and guidance documents to improve clarity, consistency, and user-friendliness.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on engagement activities and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for engagement activities.

Your profile

  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, project management, international development, natural resource management, or related areas. 
  • Proven experience managing stakeholder consultations and multi-stakeholder engagement processes. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. 
  • Strong ability to simplify and communicate complex technical or policy-related information. 
  • Experience creating high-quality content for different audiences and channels. 
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills; Agile experience is a plus. 
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • A collaborative, service-oriented professional who enjoys working with experts and deep-diving into complex topics. 
  • Fluent in English; Spanish and/or French are an advantage.

The Fine Print

  • Location: Bonn, Germany. 

  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.

  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance) 

  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
