The Scope

We are looking for an engaged Trademark Officer who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

 

The Trademark Officer plays a key role in driving the visibility and credibility of FSC trademarks worldwide. The position partners with certificate holders, promotional licence holders, and internal stakeholders to ensure the correct and effective use of FSC trademarks, enabling consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. The Trademark Officer supports the development of trademark requirements, guidance, and tools, while helping protect the integrity and reputation of the FSC system through proactive stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and trademark management activities.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Engage with companies and stakeholders to promote the visibility and correct use of FSC trademarks in line with organizational objectives. 
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of trademark use requirements for FSC certificate holders and promotional licence holders. 
  • Develop and maintain trademark guidance documents, training materials, and user tools to support effective trademark implementation. 
  • Provide timely and high-quality responses to trademark-related inquiries from various stakeholder groups. 
  • Process and assess trademark misuse reports, supporting appropriate follow-up actions to safeguard the integrity of the FSC system. 
  • Support communication, knowledge sharing, and alignment of trademark-related information across country, regional, and international FSC teams. 
  • Maintain and update trademark management databases, records, and documentation to ensure data accuracy and accessibility. 
  • Monitor trademark-related processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Participate in projects and undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or required to meet organizational priorities.

Your profile

  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Forest Product Markets, Law, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in certification schemes, trademark management, customer relations, project management, or a related area. 
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple processes and projects simultaneously. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities. 
  • Service-oriented and solution-focused mindset with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is an asset. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with database management platforms and content management systems is an advantage. 
  • Experience working in multicultural, multilingual, and globally distributed teams.

The Fine Print

  • Location: Bonn, Germany. 

  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.

  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance) 

  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
